United Electric Announcements – April 2025

Scholarship Applications

It’s time to submit your scholarship applications. Forms are available on our website, in the co-op office, or from school counselors.

United Electric awards 5 $500 scholarships to graduating seniors whose parents or guardians receive electricity from the cooperative. 1 $500 scholarship is available for a nontraditional student, someone returning to school after a life change or an interval from high school.

Applications are due in the office by 5 p.m. Thursday, April 10.

Nontraditional scholarship applicants are not limited to United Electric members. Applications for the nontraditional scholarship are due in the office by 5 p.m. Thursday, June 5.

For additional scholarship information, contact Trisha Moultrie at (208) 679-2222.

Youth Rally

If you are a sophomore or junior whose parents or guardians are members of United Electric Co-op, you don’t want to miss Youth Rally. This year’s rally is July 7 through June 11 at the Northwest Nazarene University campus in Nampa.

Enjoy a fun week with fellow peers as you learn about leadership, cooperatives, team building, and energy careers.

Applications are due in the office by 5 p.m. Thursday, May 1.

P.S. Mom and Dad: This event is fully chaperoned at all times. For more information, contact the office at (208) 679-2222 or Dakota Searle at (208) 312-3303.

Summer Internship

Are you interested in an electric utility career, such as a lineworker? Now is your opportunity to earn while you learn. United Electric Co-op is offering a paid summer internship to a student who will have completed their junior or senior year of high school.

Applications are available in our office or on our website and should be submitted with a cover letter and high school transcript. Applications are due in the office by 5 p.m. Thursday, April 24.

For more information on the lineworker internship, contact Dakota Searle at (208) 312-3303.

Level Pay for Residential Meters

Now is the time to think about signing up for level pay, a program that averages your electric bills from the previous 12 months and creates a level payment amount on each month’s bill. Credit accumulates during the summer, offsetting higher winter bills.

Sign-up for level pay is in April, and payments begin in May. When high winter bills hit your mailbox, it is too late.

If interested, call the office at (208) 679-2222 after the first week of April to find out the amount of your level payment.

Irrigators

Remember that pumps are not deactivated through the winter. If you requested a pump disconnect for work done last fall, you may need to request a connection when you are ready to use the pump this season.
