Keep Our Community Safe

At United Electric, we love the communities we serve. It has been a busy summer for our board of directors and employees. We have participated in numerous community activities and events and provided support to local youth through scholarships, internships, county fairs, and the annual ICUA Youth Rally. We have worked hard to keep electricity flowing to your homes and businesses in a safe and reliable manner at affordable prices. We are incredibly fortunate to be a part of your community and your lives.
As we transition to another busy time of year, United Electric reminds you to help keep each other safe. School activities and sports are underway, and the fall harvest is making great progress in our area. Please be patient and courteous while driving, and be observant of your surroundings.
It is important to pay attention to electrical safety, too. Overhead and underground power lines are often found in close proximity to homes, buildings, roads, and farms. Be aware of energy infrastructure, and avoid working adjacent to any of the equipment if possible. Our highest priority and concern is that nobody ever comes in contact with energized lines. Damage to utility equipment can result in costly repairs and downtime for the whole community, and contact with energized lines can be deadly.
If you notice damaged power lines or equipment, notify us immediately. Our member services and operations personnel are ready to assist and do our part in keeping your power accessible.
We hope you have an enjoyable and abundant fall season.
Sincerely,
Michael Darrington
