Manager’s Message – July 2025

The Cooperative Difference

The electric cooperative business model is unique, and United Electric Co-op is proud to be part of it, providing excellent service to the Mini-Cassia community.

As a member-owned utility, United Electric has a vested interest in the economic health and well-being of our communities. Across the United States, electric cooperatives provide power to more than 22 million homes, businesses, schools, and farms in 48 states, ultimately serving more than 42 million people.

1 of the most important aspects of cooperative membership is a shared commitment to supporting local communities and improving quality of life. In addition to the many benefits and services that come with cooperative membership, 1 of the most valuable differences is the return of margins—or profits—back to members in the form of capital credits.

United Electric is proud to be your power cooperative and serve local merchants, families, farmers, and ranchers. United Electric looks forward to continuing its sustaining role in the Mini-Cassia communities.

To best serve our members, United Electric finds great value in partnering with trade organizations and other industry cooperatives. These organizations range from national and regional groups to state and local entities. These partnerships help United Electric advocate for good public policy, provide support on important utility issues, provide access to training and industry expertise, and may assist with financing terms and economic efficiencies that are favorable to electric cooperatives.

Over the next several months, we will share more about the organizations United Electric belongs to and how these partnerships demonstrate how we are working together for the greater benefit of providing safe, reliable, and affordable power to you, our members.

Sincerely,
Michael Darrington
