Annual meeting business: United Electric Cooperative (UEC) held an Annual Meeting Member Appreciation event on Friday, March 14, 2025, at Century Stadium 5 in Burley.
Members had the choice of 4 movies, which were shown with a brief UEC welcome video. Members were handed 1 goody bag per membership and entered into a prize drawing that took place on Monday, March 17, 2025. Each person was provided with 1 pop and 1 popcorn. There were 188 registered members and 417 total attendees.
The annual business reports from Board President Dean Nielsen and General Manager Michael Darrington were recorded and posted on the UEC website on Friday, March 14, 2025. They were available for viewing until April 30, 2025.
After consultation with legal counsel, Michael provided the election results. No votes were cast in the Cassia or Minidoka districts, as there was only 1 candidate who filed for election to the board in each county.
Incumbents Cordell Searle, Cassia, and David Phillips, Minidoka, were elected by rule.
On Monday, March 17, 2025, the prize drawing took place, and the winning members were notified by phone. There were 2 grand prizes. David and Jean Smith won the Lagoon tickets and gas cards. Dan and Erika Wittman won the Almo, Idaho, getaway package.
